				<title>Finally, I have a Theme!</title>
				<link>http://www.sizewize.com/blog/index.cfm/2011/1/29/SizeWize</link>
				<description>

				I have been procrastinating writing this because I just couldn&apos;t think of a theme. I want to think of a schtick, something that makes this different from the 20 million other blogs out there.

SizeWize is a sizing tool. Who wants to sit around and talk about sizing? Not me! It&apos;s just not a fun thing for women to sit around talking about. Vanity sizing happens, but again, not really worth blogging about.

Okay so SizeWize works for the fashion industry. So, lets talk about fashion. There are million of women, men, and probably young children and pets that are more qualified to talk about fashion then me. Somehow I missed out on that valuable skill of being fashionable when they were handing out skills in kindergarten. Honestly, my older fashionista sister dressed me while growing up, and now my younger more fashionable co-worker friend is kind enough to take me out and be my fashion advisor. So clearly, I don&apos;t see myself coming here to talk bout the latest fashion trends.

So now what? I&apos;m a working mom of two. Married for 7 years, we both work, kid are great. Usual stuff, they are fun, they are draining, I love them, they test me, they drive me nuts, they tire me. And not that I will never talk about them, because have been known to write up some long sleep deprived rants to my co-workers after a week of alternating ear infections and stomach bugs, but I don&apos;t see myself blogging constantly about mommy stuff.

Moving on, so how about this, I have always worked for Corporate America. . .not very entrepreneurial, and neither is my husband. Neither of us are risk takers, always working for huge blue chip companies. I have always had ideas but I never did anything about it. Finally I decided that SizeWize was a good enough idea to do something with it. And that&apos;s IT!!! I want to talk about doing something DIFFERENT. I want to talk about a small dream, a small hobby, something that you never thought you would do.

I have been going to message board for many years (since I was pregnant with my first), and I have &quot;talked&quot; with them since I first had the idea of SizeWize. And although I don&apos;t know any of the people I &quot;talk&quot; to on this board, it has been amazing the support, constructive criticism, not so constructive criticism, that I have received. And as the year has gone on and SizeWize has gone from just an idea, to a site, to getting some mentions in Mags, to apps, the one thing I am noticing is that many women out there have a dream, hobby, SOMETHING that they would like to do. So THAT, my friends, is what I will choose to blog about.

I think I will talk about how I decided to do this, and how I did it from soup to nuts, starting from the beginning. I will share all the dumb things I did and thought throughout. I would love to hear about other women&apos;s hobbies, dreams, start-ups etc. And hopefully we call all share in our adventures, mishaps, achievements etc. . .

				<title>How SizeWize came to be</title>
				<link>http://www.sizewize.com/blog/index.cfm/2011/1/29/How-SizeWize-came-to-be</link>
				<description>

				Okay, so I am far from a writer, but I have been told that blogging is the way to go. So here I go. . .

I guess I will start by explaining how/why SizeWize came about. I&apos;m a mother of two and I work full-time in the beverage industry. My husband also works full time, so clearly time is a valuable commodity to us. I love shopping online, but never order clothes. One day when someone asked me why I got to thinking. The only reason is because I never know what size I am. I thought there had to be something out there that would solve this issue of vanity sizing. So I searched and I searched and every brand has different size charts. They were all &quot;eye-charts&quot; and I would get headaches and just give up. So hence the need for SizeWize. I spent many nights compiling size charts so I could put it all in a database to make other womens life easier.

Then I found a web development company and voila (well not really voila, more like weeks of back and forth with them since this was my first time trying to create a website and its much harder than I thought to convey all the wishy washy thoughts in my head to a concise website). So more like weeks and weeks of testing and working with them to bring my little vision to fruition and then voila SizeWize.com was launched December 16th 2009.

I would love to hear from the women who use it, on ways to improve. I have gotten requests for tall women and I will work on that.

I am really hoping that the fashion forum becomes a place where more women will go to get and give fashion advice, thoughts, questions. So please check it out and leave questions and comments and check back for responses.
