Finally, I have a Theme!
Jan 29
I have been procrastinating writing this because I just couldn't think of a theme. I want to think of a schtick, something that makes this different from the 20 million other blogs out there.
SizeWize is a sizing tool. Who wants to sit around and talk about sizing? Not me! It's just not a fun thing for women to sit around talking about. Vanity sizing happens, but again, not really worth blogging about.
Okay so SizeWize works for the fashion industry. So, lets talk about fashion. There are million of women, men, and probably young children and pets that are more qualified to talk about fashion then me. Somehow I missed out on that valuable skill of being fashionable when they were handing out skills in kindergarten. Honestly, my older fashionista sister dressed me while growing up, and now my younger more fashionable co-worker friend is kind enough to take me out and be my fashion advisor. So clearly, I don't see myself coming here to talk bout the latest fashion trends.
So now what? I'm a working mom of two. Married for 7 years, we both work, kid are great. Usual stuff, they are fun, they are draining, I love them, they test me, they drive me nuts, they tire me. And not that I will never talk about them, because have been known to write up some long sleep deprived rants to my co-workers after a week of alternating ear infections and stomach bugs, but I don't see myself blogging constantly about mommy stuff.
Moving on, so how about this, I have always worked for Corporate America. . .not very entrepreneurial, and neither is my husband. Neither of us are risk takers, always working for huge blue chip companies. I have always had ideas but I never did anything about it. Finally I decided that SizeWize was a good enough idea to do something with it. And that's IT!!! I want to talk about doing something DIFFERENT. I want to talk about a small dream, a small hobby, something that you never thought you would do.
I have been going to message board for many years (since I was pregnant with my first), and I have "talked" with them since I first had the idea of SizeWize. And although I don't know any of the people I "talk" to on this board, it has been amazing the support, constructive criticism, not so constructive criticism, that I have received. And as the year has gone on and SizeWize has gone from just an idea, to a site, to getting some mentions in Mags, to apps, the one thing I am noticing is that many women out there have a dream, hobby, SOMETHING that they would like to do. So THAT, my friends, is what I will choose to blog about.
I think I will talk about how I decided to do this, and how I did it from soup to nuts, starting from the beginning. I will share all the dumb things I did and thought throughout. I would love to hear about other women's hobbies, dreams, start-ups etc. And hopefully we call all share in our adventures, mishaps, achievements etc. . .
